Fairhive Homes have informed us that unfortunately they will be closing down the Lifeline service. Therefore, all users will need to move to another provider by 1 March 2026.

What does this mean for our Parishioners?

Before 1 March 2026 those that benefit from a Lifeline Alarm provided by Fairhive and funded by the Charity will need to either:

  • Inform us that they no longer need lifeline alarm support

  • Arrange a new lifeline alarm with a different supplier, and apply for continuing support from the Charity.

The good news

The Charity already has in place a grant option for those residents that require a digital unit. Our system for funding digital alarms works differently from the arrangement with Fairhive Homes, but is of a comparable level.

So, what next?

Those affected should take some time to understand the information sent to them in the post. There are two options for those moving to a digital alarm that have been passed to us from Fairhive Homes. Then let us know what they intend to do by emailing smandopc@gmail.com

If you choose to arrange a new alarm system

The application form below explains how funding from the Charity with a digital alarm system. Applicants will need to enclose some proof of installation with the application form when they send it back to us.

But this is very IMPORTANT

Whether they wish to discontinue support or move over to a new system, those affected must inform us of the date they wish to close their Fairhive service. We will then cancel the monitoring with Fairhive, who will arrange for the return of their unit.

We understand this is not ideal

The Trustees understand that this may seem difficult and overwhelming. Unfortunately the Charity has no control over Fairhive’s provision of Lifeline alarms and no alternative arrangement with another provider. However, for the immediate term the Trustees would like Parishioners to know that they are committed to assisting as much as possible with Lifeline financial support, even though they can no longer assist in the physical provision of those alarms.

Finally, we would urge all those affected to begin their transfer process as soon as possible to ensure that they do not risk being without an alarm on 1 March 2026.

Kind regards

The Trustees of Stoke Mandeville & Other Parishes Charity
